THINKING

Share

Capturing student thinking throughout the learning journey is key to student success. Educators who continuously adjust instruction based on all kinds of formative data, in all formats, enjoy positive student outcomes. Add "one and done" videos to that formative toolbox.

What's "one and done?"
It's just a one-take and submit video. Students faces may or may not appear on the screen, depending on your purpose.

Following are a few examples of "one and done" responses:

1. Teachers ask students to quickly explain in Seesaw how they solved a math challenge.

2. Students respond to an Essential Question of the Day in Flipgrid, with the option to deepen conversations by responding to their peers' posts.

3. Students use a sentence stem like: "The passage about -------  means...... The reason I think this is in the text where it says...."

4. Take advantage of the video response feature in your LMS for students to answer questions throughout the lesson and contribute to threaded discussions in either text or video format.
